How comprehensive analysis and mapping help municipalities place wind projects

As part of a trans-atlantic consulting team, Clarendon Hill Consulting (ChillCons) conducted a comprehensive analysis for the City of Bonn, Germany. The strategic study assessed the suitability and critical issues for placing wind energy turbines at selected sites within the city.

Being experienced in the conduction of comprehensive studies and critical assessments for renewable energy projects in the U.S and in Germany, ChillCons carried out the study together with a local German partner firm, Gesellschaft fuer Umweltplanung. Their study assessed the wind energy yields, protected natural species, viewsheds, flood prevention areas, grid interconnection, construction site installation along with potential interferences with radar and air traffic. All data were overlayed, analyzed and mapped in GIS.

The recent article in the Renewable Energy Magazine describes how ChillCons comprehensive analysis of renewable energy sites helps municipalities increase their resiliency efforts in a strategic and efficient manner.
